The upcoming festival will take place in Marysville's Chinatown on March 20 and 21, 2010 in the Year of the Tiger, one of the most powerful personalities in the Chinese Zodiac.

The heart of the festival is the recently restored Bok Kai Temple, built in Marysville, California's historic Chinatown in 1888.

The popular parade, some say the oldest continuous one in America, will take place on Saturday, March 20, and will feature a variety of floats, cultural performances, and, of course, the famous Bok Kai dragon. Sunday, March 21, is Bomb Day, which traditionally falls on the second day of the second month (Yee Yeut Yee) of the Chinese Lunar Year.

Here, on the official website of the Bok Kai Festival, you will find background on the festival, a calendar of events, a roster of sponsors and festival officials, information on how to participate in the Parade or become a sponsor or volunteer. The Festival attracts travelers from around California, the country and the world, so information for visitors on lodging, dining and shopping also is included.
